Apple ร่อนอีเมลเชิญให้ผู้ใช้ทั่วไปได้ทดสอบ iWork for iCloud Beta แล้ว

ในงาน WWDC 2013 นั้น แอปเปิลได้เปิดตัว iWork for iCloud หรือการใช้งาน แอพพลิเคชั่น ชุดออฟฟิศ  iWork ผ่านหน้าเว็บ icloud.com ซึ่งแน่นอนเอามาสู้กับคู่แข่งอย่าง Microsoft ที่มีบริการ MS Office เป็นจุดขาย และอีกคู่แข่งสำคัญคือ Google ที่มีบริการ Google Documents ให้ใช้บริการชุดออฟิศพื้นฐานผ่านเว็บเช่นกัน

หลังจากที่แอปเปิลเริ่มให้ นักพัฒนาได้ทดสอบ iWork for iCloud รุ่น beta กันไปได้สักระยะหนึ่งแล้ว เมื่อประมาณศุกร์ที่ผ่านมาแอปเปิล ก็ได้เริ่มส่งอีเมล แจ้งกับผู้ใช้ทั่วไป ให้ทดสอบบริการ iWork for iCloud นี้ ซึ่งบริการที่มีให้ทดสอบนั้นก็ได้แก่ Pages, Numbers, Keynote

    We’ll soon be introducing a new and exciting feature to iCloud. It’s called iWork for iCloud and it’s a suite of apps — Pages, Numbers, and Keynote — that make it easy for anyone with an iCloud account to create and edit great-looking documents, spreadsheets, and presentations right on the web.

    We’d like to invite you to be one of the first to try it, so we’re giving you early access to the iWork for iCloud beta. All you have to do is sign in to iCloud on a Mac or a PC using the current version of Safari, Chrome, or Internet Explorer. Then just click on Pages, Numbers, or Keynote and you’re off.

    We’re really proud of these apps and we’d appreciate your help in making them as great as they can possibly be. So we’d love to hear your feedback as you use them.

ใครที่ได้รับจดหมายลักษณะนี้ ก็สามารถเข้าเว็บ icloud.com ก็จะพบไอคอน Pages, Numbers, Keynote  ที่มุมขวามีคำว่า "beta" แปะติดอยู่ สามารถเรียกใช้งานได้เลย โดยบราวเซอร์ Firefox ไม่สามารถใช้งาน ได้ ต้องใช้ Safari 6.0.3, Internet Explorer 9.0.8, Google Chrome 27.0.1 ขึ้นไปเท่านั้น จากที่ AppTube ลองเปิดไฟล์ MS Word ที่เป็นข้อความภาษาไทย (แบบผ่านๆ)  ตัว Pages for iCloud ก็สามารถพิมพ์ภาษาไทย และอ่านภาษาไทยได้ เรียบร้อยดี
